Útreikningar á virkni leiðigarða og safnþróar undir óstöðugum hrygg milli stóru skriðunnar frá desember 2020 og Búðarár liggja nú fyrir. Samkvæmt þeim eru allar líkur á að varnargarðar og safnþró leiði skriðuna til sjávar en þar sem ennþá mælist hreyfing á hryggnum er ákveðið að halda enn rýmingu á þeim húsum er standa næst varnargarðinum.
Lögreglustjórinn á Austurlandi afléttir því rýmingu á þeim húsum sem fjær standa varnargörðum.
Þau fimm hús sem áfram verða rýmd eru: Fossgata 5 og 7 og Hafnargata 10, 16b og 18c.
Hættustig almannavarna verður áfram í gildi.
Engar hreyfingar hafa mælst í hlíðum ofan Seyðisfjarðar utan þeirra er mælst hafa í hryggnum.
Öll óviðkomandi umferð um skriðusvæðið er óheimil. Umferð um göngustíga meðfram Búðará og annarsstaðar þar sem varnargarðar beina skriðustraumum verði áfram með aðgæslu.
Búið er að hafa samband við íbúa í þeim húsum sem rýmd voru á mánudag og þeim kynnt niðurstaðan. Herðubreið verður auk þess opin milli klukkan 18 og 19 í kvöld. Þar verður Teams fundur þar sem fulltrúar Veðurstofu, Múlaþings og Almannavarna munu sitja fyrir svörum. Öll velkomin.
Herðubreið verður einnig opin á morgun líkt og verið hefur milli klukkan 14 og 16. Þangað geta íbúar í húsum sem enn sæta rýmingu komið og hugað að húsum sínum undir eftirliti og í skamma stund. Ákvörðun um slíka heimild verður endurmetin eftir morgundaginn og niðurstaðan þá kynnt.

Calculations are available, and evacuation is partially lifted
Calculations of the activity of deflecting dams and drainage sumps under the unstable ridge between the large landslide from December 2020 and Búðará are now available. According to them, it is likely that the levees and drainage sumps will lead the landslide to the sea. However, since there is still movement on the ridge, it has been decided to keep the houses closest to the levee evacuated.
Therefore, the Police Commissioner in East Iceland is lifting the evacuation of the houses that are farther away from the levees.
The five houses that will remain evacuated are: Fossgata 5 and 7, and Hafnargata 10, 16b and 18c.
