An information center for the has been opened in Seyðisfjörður.
The chief of police has the authority to open an emergency support center in the event of danger.
The information center is located in Herðubreið, the community- and cultural center on Austurvegur 4.
The opening hours until the new year:
23. December 11:00-18:00
27.-30. December, 11:00-18:00
31. December, 11:00-13:00
Opening hours in the new year will be published later. The information center will stay open as long as required.
Psychological support will be available 23. December between 13:00 and 16:00 as well as 28. – 31. December between 13:00 and 16:00.
The tasks that the information center can offer are, among others, general information to the public and assistance for the those directly affected by the disaster. The center also oversees communication with the government, municipality and media about the measures taken by authorities.
Citizens are encouraged to use the service center for everything they need, whether big or small.
